Thank you for choosing to use Wingtra products. We are committed to protecting your personal information and your right to privacy. If you have any questions or concerns about our policy, or our practices with regards to your personal information, please contact us at support@wingtra.com.
The primary purpose of collecting your data is to improve your experience with the WingtraOne drone, WingtraPilot and WingtraHub and to tailor our marketing offering according to your needs. To that end, we only collect your data for clearly defined purposes. We do not and will not sell your personal data to third parties.
This Privacy Statement (the ‘Statement’) explains the personal information we collect from you, either directly or indirectly, and how we will use it. Personal information is any information that can be used to identify you or that we can link to you. It applies to all products offered by Wingtra (‘Wingtra Product(s)’), including the WingtraOne drone and our software WingtraPilot and WingtraHub (‘Wingtra app’ or ‘app’) or services, for example the Wingtra website, as well as other offline interactions, such as visiting a Wingtra office or attending a Wingtra event (collectively referred to as ‘Services’). Please read this Statement carefully to understand how Wingtra may collect, use, and share your personal information. The terms ‘we’, ‘us’, or ‘Wingtra’ are each intended as reference to Wingtra AG.
The types of personal information we collect
Information you provide to us
We collect information you voluntarily provide to us, such as your name, phone number and email address; for instance, when you want to learn more about Wingtra Products and Services or when you contact our support or sales team for assistance with your Wingtra Products.
Information we collect automatically
We automatically collect information about you, about your use of Wingtra Products and Services, such as drone meta-data or information collected by using cookies and similar technologies when you use, access, or interact with us via our websites or app. We may, for example, collect information about the type of device you use to access our websites, the operating system and version, your IP address, your general geographic location as indicated by your IP address, your browser type, the webpages you view on our websites, and whether and how you interact with content available on our websites.
Information obtained from other sources
We may receive information about you from other sources, including third parties, such as partners with whom we offer co-branded services or engage in joint-marketing activities. We may also receive information about you from social media platforms, for instance, when you interact with us on social media. We protect data obtained from third parties according to the practices described in this Statement and we also apply any additional restrictions imposed by the source of data.
Information of children
Wingtra does not target and is not intended to attract children under the age of eighteen. Although visitors of all ages may navigate through our website or use our app, we do not knowingly collect or request personal information from those under the age of eighteen without parental consent. If, following a notification from a parent or guardian or discovery by other means, a child under eighteen has been improperly registered on our site by using false information, we will cancel the child’s account and delete the child’s personal information from our records.

To make the information in this Statement easy to understand, we have highlighted different occasions when Wingtra could potentially collect personal information from customers. The customer interactions with Wingtra are broken down into the following segments:
Learning about Wingtra
As you gather more information about Wingtra, you may virtually or physically visit a site that we own. Examples include browsing our website, calling our in-house sales representatives, physically visiting a Wingtra office or attending Wingtra-sponsored events. To learn more about Wingtra Products, you may voluntarily provide personal information, such as your name and email address during these interactions. We may also collect information about you online via cookies or similar technologies when you visit our websites.
We collect: name, email address, phone number, company name, country, IP address, industry, other information you provide to us, and information provided by cookies or similar technology.
Why: We use this information to share news about events and products offered by Wingtra. Additionally, the IP address helps us to understand geographic information about our website’s visitors better so that we can improve our website for everyone. It is our legitimate interest to process your personal data for these purposes.
Buying Wingtra products
Once you have decided to buy a Wingtra Product, you may be asked to provide information so that we can complete your purchase.
We collect: your name, company name, phone number, email address, delivery/shipping address, and other information you enter on our website.
Why: We use this information to complete your transaction, carry out any follow up with you about your purchase, help with any delivery issues, handle returns, and other issues related to the purchase of Wingtra Products. Processing your personal data for this purpose is necessary for the performance of the agreement we have with you.
Registering your Wingtra system
When registering your Wingtra product, you will be asked to provide certain personal information, such as your e-mail address and product serial number, which will be associated with each other. You will also be required to create one or more accounts with Wingtra itself and third party partners in order to access and use certain services such as Wingtra software, online support (Wingtra knowledge base) or to view the changelog and send product development suggestions (Canny).
We collect: your name, email address, company name and the reseller name at which you purchased the drone, and other information you enter in our software or on our website.
Why: We collect this information to help get your Wingtra Product working securely and to provide you support. You will not be able to opt out from this data collection, sharing, and/or processing if you want to continue to use your Wingtra Products. It is our legitimate interest to process your personal data for these purposes.
Using Wingtra products (‘drone meta-data’)
We collect information from your Wingtra Products in order to (1) provide product functionality such as synchronising flight plans with devices and user accounts, (2) provide predictive maintenance by detecting problems of Wingtra drones before failure occurs, (3) provide better support and to diagnose product issues faster, (4) improve the general reliability and security of the Wingtra Products, (5) understand how users use Wingtra products to guide our decisions when enhancing existing products or developing new products. The processing of this information is in our legitimate interest as further set out below (under Why).
We collect:
- Drone and software configuration. This includes but is not limited to: Plane ID, camera and PPK module serial numbers, software version, payload type and PPK status (active, non-active, failed).
- Performance Information. This includes, but is not limited to: drone tippings, preflight check failures, flight data status warnings and all sorts of hardware and software warnings and failures, battery capacity, telemetry performance, type of landing (assisted, RTH, Auto, etc), speed and acceleration during landing, transition altitude.
- Flight information. This includes but is not limited to: Number of flights, flight duration, flight date, area size, number of images, GSD, side and front overlap, altitude and wind speed, region and city. Wingtra does not collect GPS coordinates of drones. However, we obtain region and city locations of a drone via Google Firebase Analytics.
We do not collect
- Survey results: We never collect exact flight plans, drone GPS coordinates, images, whether at full or reduced resolution or map data such as geo-tags, unless you submit such data separately via our file submission form in order to get support or consulting on data processing from us.
Why: This data is absolutely necessary for your Wingtra Product or Service (including replacement notifications, safety checks of components, and synchronisation of flight plans between devices) to perform its basic functions in a secure way and you will not be able to opt out from this data collection, sharing, and/or processing if you want to continue to use your Wingtra Products. Also we collect this information so that we can help ensure Wingtra Products are functioning properly and in a safe way, help predict potential problems with Wingtra Products, provide you with customer support, improve Wingtra Product’s reliability and security and determine what types of Product or feature improvements would please our customers most, which is our legitimate interest.
Getting help from Wingtra
From time to time, you may decide to contact our Support for assistance with your Wingtra Products. To be able to offer you the best service possible, we may collect certain data from you or your Wingtra Products.
We collect: This may include contact information, such as your name, email address, phone number, social media identifiers (if you contact us using a social media channel), and the content of your chats and other communications with the Wingtra Support, information about your drone such as Plane ID, Software version, Camera serial number, Camera model, Camera mount serial number, PPK serial number. In certain situations, the Support team will need additional data in order to help you solve your issue, such as log files, flight images and pictures or videos of the drone. We will obtain these data only from you when you upload them via the support form or send it directly to our Support team. We don’t capture log files or images ourselves without your consent.
- Log files: Log files contain all system data, including but not limited to: the drone configuration, the drone exact position and trajectory, records of the behaviour and performance of drone components, system warnings and failures, in total more than 600+ parameters. Log files do not contain any flight images or map data.
- Flight images and geotags: In case you need support regarding the quality or the post-processing of the images, our Support Team might require you to send images and geo-tags of your flights.
- Pictures or videos of the drone: This is necessary for our Support team to assess the state of the drone hardware in case of physical damage and/or to assess if the warranty applies in case of repair or return.
Why: We collect this information to give you the best and most efficient customer support possible. For instance, for customer enquiries and technical questions, we use the contact information to respond to the customer in their preferred channel (phone, email, social). For technical problems, we use data in the log files and/or the flight images to effectively troubleshoot the issue. For product returns and/or repairs, we use the contact information to ensure successful product receipt and/or delivery. Using these types of data is necessary to fulfil the agreement we have with you. Additionally we will use aggregated flight logs to improve Wingtra Product’s reliability and security and determine what types of Product or feature improvements would please our customers most, which is our legitimate interest.
How we use personal information
Wingtra uses your personal information we collect to provide you with the Wingtra Products and Services we offer, which includes using data to improve and personalise your experiences. We also use your personal information to communicate with you, for example, informing you about your account, new Wingtra Products or Services available, security, and other types of updates. Additionally, as described below, we may use other data related to your interactions with Wingtra Products and Services in order to provide certain Wingtra Services and for advertising purposes.

Purchase and delivery of Wingtra products and services
We use your personal information to take and handle orders, deliver Products and Services and communicate with you about orders, Products and Services, and promotional offers. This processing is necessary for the performance of the agreement we have with you.
Product experience, recommendations and personalisation
We use data to provide, operate, support, and improve the Wingtra Products and Services we offer to ensure our customers can use their drones as effortlessly as possible. We use your personal information to recommend features, Products, and Services that might be of interest to you, identify your preferences, and personalise your experience with Wingtra Products and Services. This processing is necessary for the performance of the agreement we have with you, as well as to serve our legitimate interest.
Customer support
We use data to respond to customer enquiries, diagnose Product problems, repair customers’ Wingtra Products and provide other customer care and support services. This processing is necessary for the performance of the agreement we have with you, as well as to serve our legitimate interest.
Product improvement
We continually use data for research purposes and to develop and improve our Wingtra Products and Services, including maintaining and improving the performance of our Wingtra Products and Services, developing and adding new features or capabilities, such as using failure reports to improve reliability or using flight planning information to prioritise new features. We use your personal information to provide functionality, analyse performance, fix errors, and improve usability and effectiveness of Wingtra Products and Services. This processing is necessary to serve our legitimate interest.
Security, safety, and dispute resolution
We use data to protect the security and safety of our customers, Wingtra Products and Services to resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. This processing is necessary to serve our legitimate interest.
Business operations
We use data to develop aggregate analysis and business intelligence that enable us to operate, protect, make informed decisions, and report on the performance of our business. This processing is necessary to serve our legitimate interest.
Communication, marketing and advertising
We use the data we collect to deliver and personalise our communications with you. For example, we may contact you by email or other means of electronic communication to inform you about new Wingtra Products or Services and security or software updates, to update you on a support issue, or to invite you to take part in a survey.This processing is necessary to serve our legitimate interest.
We also use cookies and similar technologies to provide the most relevant Wingtra advertising to you.
Purposes for which we seek your consent
We may also ask for your consent to process your personal information for a specific purpose that we communicate to you. When you consent to our processing your personal information for a specified purpose, you may withdraw your consent at any time, and we will stop processing your personal information for that purpose.
How we may share personal Information
Wingtra does not and will not sell personal information about our customers. We want you to understand that information about our customers is an important part of our business. We only disclose your data as described in this Statement. We may share information with the following types of third parties.
Third-Party vendors
Wingtra uses a variety of third-party vendors to carry out services like website management and hosting, cloud-related services and shipping (including fulfilling orders for Products or Services, delivering packages, sending postal mail and email) email communications, analysing data, providing marketing assistance, transmitting content and providing customer service. We only share your personal information as necessary, such as to complete a transaction or to provide a Product or Service you have requested or authorised and only with vendors or agents working on our behalf for the purposes described in this Statement. In this case, your personal information will be shared with these agents or contractors but only for the purpose of performing services on behalf and under the instructions of Wingtra and in accordance with this Statement. If you purchase Wingtra products through an official Wingtra distributor, we may share data such as your name, contact email, other contact data, drone ID, drone software version, warranty activation date, warranty status, type of requested products, delivery address.It is our legitimate interest to share information with these parties for these purposes.
Compelled disclosure and law enforcement
When legally required, strictly necessary for the performance of the services or to protect our rights, or the rights of our affiliates or users, we disclose your personal information to law enforcement authorities, investigative organisations, our affiliates, or in legal proceedings. We will share your personal information when we believe in good faith that it is necessary for us to do so in order to comply with a legal obligation under applicable law or to respond to a valid legal process (e.g. a search warrant, a court order, or a subpoena).
Sale or merger
We may share your personal information in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or a portion of our assets. Of course, we shall notify you via email and/or a prominent notice on our website and inform you of your rights.
Sharing and disclosure of aggregate data
We share data in aggregate form and/or in a form which does not enable the recipient of such data to identify you, with third parties, for example, for industry analysis.

Performance of a contract
The use of your personal information may be necessary to perform an agreement you have with us. For example, to complete your purchase of your Wingtra Product, to register and maintain your account, to help with delivery issues, to handle returns, to register your Wingtra system, to provide you with Wingtra Radio, and to make sure that your Wingtra Product performs its basic functions in a secure way or to respond to your requests.
Consent
Where legally required, we may rely on your consent to use your personal information. When this is the case, we will provide you with more specific information when we actually request your consent. You may withdraw your consent at any time by sending us an email to support@wingtra.com. Your withdrawal will not affect the lawfulness of processing based on your consent before your withdrawal.
Compliance with legal obligation
We may use your relevant personal information to ensure compliance with applicable laws; for example, to comply with lawful requests from law enforcement, and for regulatory investigations and compliance.
Legitimate interests
We may use your personal information for our legitimate interests. For example, we rely on our legitimate interest to analyse and improve our Wingtra Products and Services and the content on our websites and app, to send you notifications about software updates or information about Wingtra Products and Services, and to use your relevant personal data for administrative purposes. Furthermore, except where consent is required under applicable local law, we rely on our legitimate interest to send you relevant marketing communications.
When using personal data to serve our legitimate interests, we will always balance your rights and interests in the protection of your personal data against our rights and interests.
Security, storage and retention of personal information we collect
Security
We aim to protect your personal information through a system of organizational and technical security measures.
We have implemented appropriate technical and organizational security measures designed to protect the security of any personal information we process. However, please also remember that we cannot guarantee that the internet itself is 100% secure. Although we will do our best to protect your personal information, transmission of personal information to and from our Services or Apps is at your own risk. You should only access the services within a secure environment.
Storage
Personal data collected by Wingtra may be stored and processed in your region, in the United States, or in any other country where Wingtra or its affiliates, subsidiaries, or service providers are located or maintain facilities.
Retention
Wingtra will retain your personal information:
- for as long as we have a customer relationship with you and/or as necessary to enable you to use the website, your Wingtra account, and/or your Wingtra Product(s);
- for the period required to provide services that you request from us;
- for the period required to provide marketing or other promotional materials that you request from us;
- to comply with our legal obligations, including requirements of regulators and governmental agencies that have authority over us, such as tax and/or accounting obligations, which usually require retaining certain transaction data for periods between seven and 10 years after a transaction has occurred;
- for the period required to resolve disputes with any parties and/or to investigate or defend against potential legal claims; and
- otherwise as necessary to allow us to conduct our business in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Your rights to access, change and delete your data
Based on the laws of some countries, you may have the right to request access to the personal information we collect from you, change that information, or delete it in some circumstances. To request to review, update, or delete your personal information, please contact: support@wingtra.com. We will respond to your request within 30 days.
Your communication, marketing and advertising preferences
We also use your email to send you Wingtra-related notifications, such as promotional messages, software updates, information about Wingtra Products and/or Services, and to share exciting Wingtra news and Product offerings.
You can opt out of receiving direct marketing communications from Wingtra by following the instructions included in every email sent to you, via the “Unsubscribe” tab. We respect your choice, and we will stop sending you promotional emails once you unsubscribe or change your communication settings.
Please note, regardless of your communication settings, we will continue to communicate with you regarding changes to terms and conditions, policy updates, Wingtra Product software updates, routine customer service messages such as information about current or past purchase, delivery of products, service interruptions, data breaches, or other significant information about a Product you own, such as discontinuation of support or safety issues.

Advertising and modern marketing tools
To help more people get to know about Wingtra, we use several modern marketing tools in support of our advertising efforts.
Wingtra may work with third-party advertisers that use cookies and similar technologies to provide more relevant advertising about Wingtra Products and Services on our websites and across the internet. To provide this “interest-based advertising,” the parties combine non-personal data about your online activities, acquired over time, which data help cater advertising that we deliver to you.
