Wingtra and Trimble drone survey workflow

Wingtra and Trimble collaboration
Trimble receivers and Wingtra surveying drone

Plug Wingtra aerial data into the Trimble workflow your team already uses.

Correct image positions with your Trimble base station or Network Corrections, included with WingtraPRO and powered by Trimble PP-RTX.

Then continue working in Trimble Business Center.

How can you work with Wingtra and Trimble today?

Workflow with Trimble base station

Import T02 and T04 files

Trimble Receivers compatibility of T02 and T04 files with Wingtra

Upload .T02 and .T04 files from supported Trimble base stations directly into Wingtra software. Wingtra handles the data and corrects image positions.

Wingtra Corrections by Trimble PP-RTX workflow without base station

Workflow without base station

Correct image geotags with Trimble PP-RTX

Wingtra Corrections by Trimble PP-RTX workflow without base station

Wingtra Network Corrections uses Trimble PP-RTX to correct WingtraRAY image positions after the flight. You do not need to set up a base station or download correction files from a CORS network.2)

Your own base station
  1. Set up the receiver
  2. Log in before and after the flight
  3. Download GNSS files from the receiver
In Wingtra software
  1. Upload GNSS files
  2. Set base location: known coordinate, manual entry, or PPP.
WingtraGROUND
  1. Set up the receiver
  2. Log in before and after the flight
  3. The data is automatically uploaded to Wingtra software for geotagging.3
In Wingtra software
  1. Set base location: known coordinate, manual entry, or PPP.
Network Corrections
  1. Fly for at least 10 minutes for recommended accuracy
In Wingtra software
  1. Select Network Corrections during geotagging
A CORS network
  1. Confirm suitable nearby reference-station coverage prior
  2. Download the reference-station file
In Wingtra software
  1. Import it into Wingtra software

1 Achievable with WingtraRAY and built-in GNSS antenna (PPK enabled), the SURVEY61 sensor, a Trimble base station within 10 km (6 mi), and Wingtra processing software with PPK corrections. Validate final accuracy with at least 3 independent checkpoints that are not used as ground control points (GCPs) in processing.

With other WingtraRAY sensors, achieve 6 cm (0.2 ft) absolute accuracy (RMS x, y, z) without GCPs or 3 cm (0.1 ft) absolute accuracy with at least 3 GCPs in photogrammetric processing

2 Network Corrections is not a replacement for a local base station on projects with strict contractual, legal or tolerance-sensitive accuracy requirements. It corrects image geotags; it does not measure ground points. Validate final map accuracy with independent checkpoints whenever the deliverable requires it. Plan a flight of at least 10 minutes; longer flights improve results. It requires a subscription to WingtraPRO or WingtraUNLIMITED

3 Accuracy figures are based on flights with WingtraRAY and SURVEY61 based on testing in the US and Switzerland.

4 Requires Trimble Business Center with photogrammetry module

FAQ

Can I use my Trimble base station with WingtraRAY?

Yes. Upload supported .T02 or .T04 observation files directly into Wingtra software for PPK correction.
Not when using supported .T02 or .T04 files in the current Wingtra software workflow.

Yes. Network Corrections uses Trimble PP-RTX to correct WingtraRAY image positions after the flight without a local base station. Disclaimer

  • Import .T02 or .T04 into Wingtra software for drone image data correction
  • Import a Wingtra folder with geotagged images into Trimble Business Center (photogrammetry add-on required)
No, Wingtra software does not support JXL file import

No, the service is included in the WingtraPRO subscription.
