Wingtra, the Swiss company that developed the first commercially successful vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) fixed-wing drone is proud to announce its first reseller agreement in the GCC region with Sigma Enterprises. A highly-regarded engineering technology company with over three decades of experience, Sigma Enterprises LLC offers an extensive range of products and services across the GCC–in the UAE, Oman, Kuwait and Qatar–for diverse sectors, including civil infrastructure, industrial, commercial, oil and gas, research and education, and mechanical and electrical industries.
Speaking on the partnership, Sofien Dhouib, General Manager, Sigma Enterprises said: “We are a growing engineering technology trading company in the region with the surveying segment being one of our key focuses where we’ve dominated the market for more than a decade now. With exponential advancement in surveying and mapping technology, we are delighted to add to our strong portfolio the best VTOL drones to address the business requirements of our target customers.”
WingtraOne’s VTOL fixed-wing capabilities means safer, more dynamic take-off and landing options as well as longer flight time for high-resolution survey and mapping projects. Its design means it can carry heavier and higher-end sensors, e.g., its 42 MP Sony RX1RII ultra-high resolution payload option. When combined with these sensors, the post process kinematics upgrade enables WingtraOne to reach levels down to 1 cm (.4 in) absolute accuracy without any ground control points.
“Together with our partner SIGMA Enterprises, Wingtra has established a strong foothold in the Middle East. SIGMA’s experience in the industry and excellent customer support will ensure that existing and new Wingtra customers in the region are well served and educated on the usage of professional survey VTOL drones,” said Antonio Zivolic, Wingtra Sales Manager.
Sigma recently invited Wingtra to conduct a demo of WingtraOne’s VTOL technology, ease of use, ultra-high resolution and broad coverage capabilities. The demo, which took place in the UAE and was conducted by Zivolic, proved popular with more than 50 attendees from the UAE, Bangladesh, India and the Middle East.
“The overall feedback from the day was very positive and allowed our customers to be familiar with the technology, product features, and ease of operation,” said Mr. Dhouib. “With VTOL Drones in high demand, we look forward to elevating this partnership to great heights by delivering the best possible customer support with trained in-house drone professionals and service experts. We are confident that WingtraOne will strengthen our product portfolio and add tremendous value for our customers in the UAE and the region.”
