On the evening of September 9th, the tenth-anniversary edition of the TOP 100 Swiss Startup Awards showcased and ranked Switzerland’s top-performing startups. For the past 10 years, Switzerland has ranked at the top of the Global Innovation Index. This standing casts an even more impressive light on the winners, particularly Wingtra and its world-class VTOL drone technology, which came in second place in overall Swiss startup ranking and first place in the drone category.
A jury of experts critically evaluated firms and chose Wingtra as an outstanding and promising technology. This award is an obvious nod of approval for the automated VTOL drone that has already demonstrated its power to change surveying and mapping.
Indeed, Wingtra’s 80+ employees include a robust team of leading engineers who have poured seven years of research and development into a user-friendly, broad-coverage and high-accuracy aerial mapping solution. They continue to hone the technology to offer the most reliable and effective UAV in the industry. With more than 60 distributor partners around the world, Wingtra is positively disrupting the way survey teams tackle geospatial measurements across industries.
The Top 100 Swiss Startup Awards event gathered representatives from 100 startups, 100 investors, and key partners of the TOP 100. For the first time, the award ceremony was live-streamed. The awards were presented in partnership with Credit Suisse, SVC, Swiss Prime Site, SECA, and digitalswitzerland.
