Wingtra, developer of industry-leading VTOL survey and mapping drone technology, announced today that its WingtraOne GEN II (2022) drone is approved as the only VTOL mapping solution among a total of 14 UAVs on the Blue UAS Cleared List under the US Defense Innovation Unit’s (DIU) Blue sUAS 2.0 program.

“The Blue UAS list is short, and it showcases the most trusted, secure and effective drone technology that the US was able to find,” said Vaibhav Sawhney, Product Manager at Wingtra. “We’re honored to make the list and motivated to continue developing a system that will be an asset for complex surveying and mapping missions for government operations.

“On top of all this, we are glad to see that this listing brings even more ease of use to DoD and Federal government clients—saving them time and money due to updated acquisition policies that give them access to commercial tech that they couldn’t employ so easily before.”

As a drone on the DIU Blue UAS Cleared List, WingtraOne GEN II (2022) is 848 FY20 NDAA compliant; tested for cyber security and safe to fly. In fact, the DIU states that drones added to this list “do not require a DoD exception to policy to procure or operate as they have undergone a cyber-security uation, [and] an NDAA compliance check.” They go on to state that Federal government partners can also leverage this onboarding process for their needs without duplicating efforts.

The WingtraOne GEN II (2022) drone bundle includes an NDAA compliant drone, sensors and active components; Blue UAS license compatibility; ChaCha20 (256-bit security level) telemetry encryption and air-gapped operations; repeatable absolute horizontal accuracy down to 0.39 inches with PPK support for all payloads; reliable flight even in sustained winds of up to 27 mph and gusts up to 40 mph; 59 minute flight time with payload, and a simplified, intuitive workflow.

Available for purchase through any Wingtra licensed distributor, WingtraOne GEN II (2022) drones are also featured on the website’s dedicated sales page.
